Hardin County homeowners who suffered damage from Hurricane Harvey can report damage to the Hardin County Appraisal District through the following email:  hcad@gtbizclass.com.   Please provide your name, address, phone number and account number (if known), along with the type of property damage, any photos, receipts, or documentation, and the amount of water that you received.  Reporting property damage now will help the appraisal district identify the most damaged neighborhoods and properties to help homeowners next year when property is reappraised.  You can also report any damage by contacting our office at 409-246-2507.

Tax Rates



The duties of the appraisal district include:

Tax rates and ultimately the amount of taxes levied on property are determined by governing bodies of each of the taxing authorities.
Mineral, utility and industrial accounts are appraised for the district by Pritchard & Abbott, Inc. in Fort Worth, Texas.
Real estate and personal property accounts are appraised locally by the district.
